Top Performers: Week 12

Cade Shepard (QB, Tri-County Academy)

vs. Brookhaven Academy (W, 56-7)

Passing: 4/4, 88 yards, TD

Rushing: 14 car, 175 yards, 5 TD

Shepard and the rest of his Rebel teammates had few issues putting away Brookhaven Academy in their first round playoff matchup. Shepard only needed 24 minutes of play to put up all those yards and points. Expect to see another performance like this one this Friday against Wayne Academy.

Carl Robinson (ATH, North Panola)

vs. Booneville (W, 42-14)

Passing: 7/13, 165 yards, TD

Rushing: 187 yards, 2 TD

Receiving: 33 yards, TD

Special Teams: 79 yard kickoff TD

Robinson didn’t seem to care if his opponent was a No. 1 seed in the 3A playoffs. He just wanted to ball, and he did that. He did a little bit of everything and scored five of the Cougars’ six touchdowns on the night. A repeat performance won’t be easy this week as the face a legit Houston Hilltopper team. We’ll see.

C.J. Hill (RB, New Albany)

vs. Shannon (W, 54-32)

Rushing: 299 yards, 7 TD

Hill was determined not to lose this track race that was their first round matchup with the Red Raiders. They just had no answer for this guy. With this, he moves closer to 1,500 yards on the season. Hill will need to be at his best this Friday as they face the No. 1 scoring defense in Class 4A. It’s been a pretty good year for them, but this is the true test thus far.

Maddux Richey (QB, Baldwyn)

vs. Myrtle (W, 41-0)

Passing: 15/26, 401 yards, 6 TD

This guy was having such a good performance, that @BaldwynSports on Twitter had to tag us and let us know by halftime. Only one of those TDs and 44 of those yards came after halftime. Not too shabby, we might say. He also passed 2,00 yards on the year. His main target, Jacolby Williams, eclipsed 1,000 yards through the air. They’ll face TCPS this Friday.

Khi Holiday (QB, TCPS)

vs. West Lowndes (W 35-6)

Passing: 13/22, 235 yards, 3 TD

Rushing: 10 car, 60 yards, TD

Special Teams: 3 att, 95 yards, TD

Hold up, so this guy is a special teams threat too? Gosh, what can this kid not do? It’s no surprise to see him on here yet again, but this might be one of the more significant performances given the circumstances. The Eagles were faced with a win-or-go-home matchup with a tough West Lowndes team, and this guy pulled through yet again. The Eagles will face the aforementioned Bearcats this Friday.

Other Notables:

Dustin Allison (QB, Pass Christian)

13/24, 228 yards, 4 TD | 12 car, 63 yards, TD vs. Purvis

Will Rogers (QB, Brandon)

31/42, 365 yards, 3 TD vs. Pearl

J.J. Pegues (ATH, Oxford)

9 car, 94 yards, 2 TD vs. Tupelo

K’Nylan Willis (WR, Lumberton)

5 rec, 126 yards, TD vs. Mount Olive

Telvin Amos (QB, Lake Cormorant)

7/19, 179 yards, TD | 16 car, 118 yards, 2 TD vs. Lafayette
