Top Performers: Week 2
After another fun week of football, let's take a look at some of the top performers from Week 2.
RB Jaquerrious "JRock" Williams(Tupelo)

J-Rock Williams put the Wave on his back last Friday night as Tupelo rallied from 16 down to defeat Corinth 35-29 in overtime. Williams finished with over 200 yards rushing and scored all 5 of Tupelo's touchdowns. The Arkansas State commit is off to a tremendous start in his senior campaign and Tupelo will continue to lean on their star tailback with QB Stephon Mcglaun expected to miss an extended period of time due to an ankle injury. Williams and the Cardiac Wave will be on the road this week @ Clarksdale.
QB John Rhys Plumlee(Oak Grove)
Passing: 13/19 287 yards 4 TD's
Rushing: 6 carries 104 yards 1 TD
Plumlee totaled up 5 TD's in Oak Grove's 41-19 thumping of Wayne County. The UGA commit has the Warriors rolling to start the 2018 season with back to back blowout wins. The No. 6 Warriors will look to jump up the SES Top 10 rankings this week as they travel to Laurel to take on the always feisty Golden Tornadoes in their first real test of the 2018 season.
RB De'Avion Cullins(Bruce)
Rushing: 29 carries 258 yards 3 TD's
The Bruce Trojans were able to roll over Vardaman 27-12, thanks to a big time performance from DeAvion Cullins. Cullins finished with a little over 250 yards on the ground and found the endzone three times. The Trojans will be on the road this week, taking on the Coffeeville Pirates.
QB Snoop Connor(Hattiesburg)
Passing: 11/19 119 yards
Rushing: 31 carries 218 yards 4 TD's
Nothing to see here, just the usual big time performance from Hattiesburg's Snoop Connor. Connor led the Tigers to a 41-20 victory over rival Laurel with 300+ yards of offense and 4 TD's. With the win, Hattiesburg retained the "Lil Brown Jug" for the fourth straight year. Connor and the Tigers will be on the road this week, taking on Moss Point. Can anyone in 5A South stop Hattiesburg from reaching the 5A State Championship again?
RB Blake Comeaux(Hancock)
Rushing: 27 carries 213 yards 4 TD's
Comeaux helped propel Hancock to a big 41-34 overtime victory over South Jones. The Senior tailback finished with over 200 yards rushing and four touchdowns, including the game winner in OT. The Hawks are on the road this week, taking on Gautier as they look to remain undefeated.
LB Carter Bonds(Corinth)
Defense: 20 tackles 3 TFL
One of the biggest story lines from week 2 was the thriller between Corinth and No. 1 Tupelo. Corinth had the Golden Wave on the ropes midway through the fourth quarter thanks to a solid defensive performance from Carter Bonds and company. Bonds finished the night with 20 tackles, yes in only one game!! The Warriors have an interesting matchup this week, as they host Melbourne Central Catholic from Melbourne, FL.
We didn't forget about you, Myrtle. The Myrtle Hawks got program win No. 1 last week, as they defeated Byers 38-26. The Myrtle football program is in their first season of varsity action, led by Head Coach Justin Hollis. The Hawks will look to get another win this week as they go on the road to face Potts Camp.
