Coverage Breakdown: Olive Branch @ West Point
Players to Watch
Demarcus Ware II
Ware has been the key to the Conquistadors success on offense this season averaging a whopping 8 yards per carry and 175 yards per game.
The Mississippi State commit is the leader of the stifling Olive Branch secondary that has 10 interceptions through the first 7 games of the season.
The 6'5 305 pound defensive tackle has been destroying opponents backfields all season, he leads the team with 4.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss.
Murphy led the Green Wave to an impressive 14-1 season last year that ended with West Point winning the 5A State Championship, and he has been even more impressive so far this year with his backfield running mate Chris Calvert.
Calvert has been the Green Waves second offensive option behind Murphy this season, and he makes it extremely difficult for teams to be able to focus in on stopping Murphy alone.
Terrence Cherry/ Ledarius Glover
While we get caught up in the West Point offensive attack, the Green Wave also have a stifling defense that is led by Terrence Cherry and Ladarius Glover. Cherry and Glover are apart of the nasty front 7 that West Point sends out every Friday night that based off looks mirrors that of the Clemson Tigers.
Keys to the Game
Can Olive Branch get off to a quick start on the road? The West Point crowd will be a factor.
Can this Conquistador defense with Jaylon Reed and Fabian Lovett slow down the West Point rushing attack of Calvert and Murphy.
Who will be undefeated and in control of the Region when the final whistle blows??
The Mississippi State commit and SES E10 member has looked like one of the top players in the state so far this season, and he doesn't look to stop now.
