Catching Up With Brandon Thornton
SES: How do you feel about how you guys have played the first two weeks of the season?
Thornton: I feel like we have shown everyone that we are a complete offense. In the first week we displayed a really dominant run game. Last week against CA we showed that we could spread it out and throw the ball around. So I'm proud of the way we've played offensively, and our defense is just getting better and better every week.
SES: How are you feeling about tomorrow night's game when you look at ACCS and the potential for sloppy playing conditions?
Thornton: I think it will work to our advantage, honestly. We're a team who can get in the trenches, always have been. They try to run outside a little more and throw it, so I think the weather, however it is, won't affect us too much.
SES: If you could listen to any song right before taking the field what would it be and why?
Thornton: Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix. It's my favorite song, puts me in just the right balance of calm, and fired up.
SES: Tell me something that people would be surprised to learn about you and explain.
Thornton: I'm completely obsessed with Italian gangster movies, everything about them. Anything with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Al Pacino, I love them all, have a lot of them memorized word for word. I don't know what it is that attracts me to them so much, probably the fraternity, loyalty, and power I guess.
