Catching Up With Immanuel Vance
Pontotoc running back Immanuel Vance averaged around 37 rushing yards a game last season. He showed glimpses of what could be a solid runner. In the opening week of the 2017 season, Vance did away with glimpses and went all in. He led the Warriors to a win over Houston with 20 carries for 222 yards and three scores. A far cry better than last season when he had one carry for four yards versus the Toppers.
We caught up with Vance this week to get to know him better and to see how he was feeling about the game played, the game coming up.
SES: You seemed to surprise people with how well you played last week. How do you feel about how it went?
Vance: I have a great line in front on me and I worked very hard this summer…so did everyone else.
SES: How are you guys feeling about Senatobia?
Vance: They are a good football team. We just have to stay focused and play hard.
SES: If you could hear one song right now, what would it be and why?
Vance: “I Am Not Afraid” by Eminem. You should never be afraid and you should always be ready to step up and take a challenge.
SES: Tell me something that others might be surprised to know about you.
Vance: I do track and field. I long jump and triple jump.
