Pruitt Wants To Make Plays & Playoffs in 2017
West Jones' Maurice Pruitt is coming into the offseason following a junior season where he finished with 40 tackles, 4 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions.
"I feel like I could have been better, I'm looking to make an even bigger impact next year. But the season was okay for me, I made some big plays throughout the season," Pruitt told SES Mississippi on his junior season.
The 6'0, 165-pound cornerback is looking to improve throughout the offseason before kicking off his senior season.
"My 1-on-1 game vs. wide receivers, I played a lot of zone last year, and I'm looking to become more of a lockdown corner," Maurice on what he needs to improve on before next season.
West Jones finished the 2016 season at 5-6, but came up a couple division wins short of earning a playoff berth. Maurice Pruitt and his teammates will be looking earn their first playoff appearance since 2014 next season, after back to back seasons without a playoff berth.
"Make plays and have better stats than last year, and of course make the playoffs," Pruitt on his goals for next season.
Maurice will have a great opportunity to prove himself on March 4th as he competes with other great athletes from Mississippi at the Fortius Project at Jones County Junior College.
