2A Playoff Preview
Calhoun City Wildcats at Baldwyn Bearcats
What a clash this game will be. Calhoun City has scored 44, 35 and 34 points in three playoff games so far. Baldwyn on the other side, however, has scored 58, 34 and 48 points in their playoff contests.
What’s more is the Wildcats are winners of 12 straight games, as they roll in 13-1 on the season. Confidence is sky high for the Bearcats, though, as they were able to get over the hump and beat East Webster last Friday.
Bay Springs Bulldogs at Bassfield Yellowjackets
Bassfield is king in 2A and they are going to be tough to knock off of their throne. They have nine straight games, and even more impressive in that stretch is that they have not scored less than 41 points. After shutting out East Marion in the first round, they have given up 26 and 22 points in their past two wins.
The Bay Springs Bulldogs have been dominant in their own right this season. In fact, they are allowing just seven points per game in their three playoff games, while having scored 30, 44 and 32 points of their own. Their three losses this season have come by a combined 13 points, so they are battle-tested.
