Coverage Recap: Madison Central 28 | Columbus 25
This game was about as sloppy as they come with penalties, miscues, and stoppages for scraps on the field, but in the end, Madison Central came out on top 28-25 over Columbus. Columbus scored with 8 seconds left in the game to make it a 1 score lead and then went for two to make it only a 3 point lead. They recovered the onside kick, but the resulting hail mary ended up getting batted down.
When fed the ball, Mississippi State commit Kylin Hill was just about unstoppable. At 6’0 215, it’s tough to stop someone moving that fast.
Jack Walker ran the offense as usual, putting points on the board when he had to. He also had a long touchdown run of 65 yards that proved he’s more than just an arm and game manager type QB.
Madison Central has to play Tupelo next week in the next round of playoffs. At times tonight, the MC offense looked a little stagnant and unimaginative. They had several 3 and outs and will need to fix that by next week or the Tupelo defense, which is one of the top defenses in the state, will take advantage of that
