Coverage Breakdown: Columbus @ Madison Central
Madison Central has the defense to make this game extremely lopsided. The problem is that Columbus has a guy by the name of Kylin Hill. Against Clinton, who is one of the best teams in the state, Hill racked up 382 rushing yards. That is absolutely insane. I believe that Madison Central is better coached and more disciplined than Clinton, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.
To go along with the solid passing attack of MC, they also boast a solid running game headed by Tyshawn White and Gabe Short. The big defensive line of Columbus will need to have a big game in order to slow them down.
If CJ Gholar can pass just enough to keep the Jaguar defense honest, Columbus could put up a lot of points tonight. Kylin Hill is an absolute beast and there’s only a handful of players as talented in the state.
Players to Watch
#8 Kylin Hill running back- The Mississippi State commit has 1,488 rushing yards and 24 total touchdowns on the season already. Plain and simple, he’s the leader of this team.
#29 Tahj Sykes defensive lineman-Versatile DL who is currently committed to Southern Miss.
#6 CJ Gholar Quarterback-dual threat QB who needs to have a good game to keep the pressure off of the Columbus ground game.
#3 Derrick Beckom defensive back-Will need to have a big game to stop the passing attack led by a future D1 QB
Madison Central Jaguars:
#15 Jack Walker Quarterback-Everything goes through him. Needs to have a huge, mistake-free game, in order for MC to win.
#10 Truett Bourne linebacker-Leader of the defense. Has 124 tackles on the season already. Enough said.
#47 Kirkland Trahan linebacker-perfect compliment to Bourne. Has 97 tackles on the season.
#2 Myles Hopson wide receiver-The big play threat doesn’t have gaudy numbers, but he is always a play away from a big touchdown. If Columbus overlooks him, he’ll make them pay.
