Coverage Breakdown: Northwest Rankin @ Madison Central

Two of the bigger schools in Central Mississippi square off at Madison Central tonight. Both of these teams have talented signal callers who have been leading the program at quarterback for several years now. Jack Walker for MC is more of a pocket passer while Braden Smith for NWR is more of a dual threat.

The Cougars’ run game is special with Cameron Carroll and Braden Smith leading the way. To go with Smith’s strong arm, he possesses great wheels that allows him to run the read-option with ease. Carroll has speed but his size is just different than other high schoolers.

Can the Jaguar defensive front stay disciplined and be able to stop the Cougar offense? They have the talent to do so, but it is going to be a matchup to watch all night long.

Players to Watch:

Northwest Rankin:

Braden Smith-Smith has been fantastic this season as he has 1,600 passing yards with 18 touchdowns to go along with his athleticism and speed at the quarterback position.

Jarrian Jones-A physical freak who already holds a Mississippi State offer despite only being a sophomore. Ball hawk in the secondary.

Cameron Carroll-Perfect complement to the shifty Braden Smith. Carroll is massive and has been a workhorse for the Cougars all season long. Has 1,200 yards already this season.

Onias Parks-A tough linebacker who seems to be in on every single tackle.

Madison Central:

Jack Walker-The Florida-Atlantic commit has been a top passer in the state for several years now. He has 1,400 passing yards to go with 12 touchdowns so far.

Hunter Blalock-A red zone nightmare that stands at 6’5. Expect to see the ball thrown his way a few times when inside the 20.

Braden Boykin-Speedy athlete who will be utilized in any way possible.

Tyshawn White-Part of a running back by committee approach for the Jaguars.

Truett Bourne-Has an astounding 104 tackles on the season. Similar to the Cougars’ Onias Parks in that he just seems to be in on every single tackle.
