Coverage Recap: Warren Central 50 Clinton 32

From the start, Warren Central was dominant. In my coverage breakdown before the game, I mentioned that I felt that if WC could win the trench battle, they had the athletes to beat Clinton. From beginning to end, WC shoved Clinton off the ball with ease and allowed their athletes to take over the game. Clinton chipped away some at the lead, but the final score accurately reflected how good WC was as they won 50-32.

Warren Central running back Demarcus Jones was downright nasty for the Vikings on the ground tonight. Once Joe Shorter got injured, he stepped right in and carried the offense. He finished the game with 138 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns.

Warren Central QB Jesse Wilson was fantastic all night as he finished with well over 300 all purpose yards and 2 touchdowns. His running ability paired with his solid arm caused problems for the Arrow defense.

Clinton QB Cam Akers was being hit all game long. Despite going over 400 all purpose yards and 2 touchdowns, he was forced into making mistakes all game long.

The Warren Central defense played fantastic all night long. They constantly disrupted what Clinton was trying to do and jumped out to a massive lead before Clinton realized what was going on. Warren Central has all the makings of a team that will make a deep run into the playoffs.

Injury news- Joe’Vontae Shorter, who was Warren Central’s leading rusher, went down in the first quarter and the early diagnosis seems to be a broken bone in the lower leg. Pray for his recovery.
