Coverage Breakdown: Clinton @ Warren Central
This game is going to be a dogfight until the very end. Both teams have elite players at the skills positions and that will likely stalemate. The number one thing to watch is the offensive and defensive line play for these two teams. Clinton has struggled some on the line this year and Warren Central could expose that. Even if the Arrow offensive line fails to meet expectations, Cam Akers, Darius Maberry, and Kam White are often good enough to overcome that. Clinton’s defense, when they don’t have Maberry and Akers playing both ways, has also underperformed a little this year. If Warren Central can institute a ground game early, it could be a long night for Clinton. On the flipside, Clinton is extremely talented and it’s very possible that not a single team can match up with their athletes this year.
Warren Central Vikings:
Joe’Vontae Shorter- The do-everything back is electric in the backfield. He’s already tallied 800+ yards on the ground to go along with 13 total touchdowns. Feed him.
Demarcus Jones-Rotates in and out with Shorter. Has 500+ yards on the ground this season and is the team’s lockdown corner. Will match up against Iowa State commit Kam White of Clinton.
Jesse Wilson-Read-option is his strong-suit. Fast and has a solid arm to keep the Clinton defense honest.
Shaunterrance Walton-Electric athlete that is the team’s leading wide receiver with 450 receiving yards and 8 total touchdowns.
Cam Akers-The 5-star RB dominates at quarterback in high school. A top passer in the state to go along with his running skills.
Darius Maberry-Southern Miss running back commit has speed to burn.
Kam White-Big-bodied athlete is a huge threat at outside wide receiver. On defense, he is just as talented.
Jacobi Hearn-One of the most talented inside linebackers in the state.
