Catching Up With Madison Central's Jack Walker
Madison Central quarterback Jack Walker has been leading the Jags for a while and he is now set to do so through one final summer and one final season. Walker led the Jags over South Panola in the 6A playoffs this past season in the upset of the year.
We recently caught up with Walker to see how spring training went and what the coming season was going to look like for him and the Jags.
SES: How was spring ball with the new coaching staff?
Walker: "It went really well. The coaches brought in great energy and as far as the offense goes, it's about the exact same as last year."
SES: What younger guys impressed you this spring and what do you expect from them in the fall?
Walker: "Two upcoming sophomores did well, an offensive linemen and a receiver also. I believe if they continue to work hard they can make a big impact."
SES: What are you working on this summer?
Walker: "Just becoming a better leader everyday and doing whatever I can to help Madison Central win a state championship."
SES: We recently ran a Twitter Poll asking who should be the top ranked team in the SES Pre-season Poll. There was a big response saying Madison Central was being overlooked. Why do you think that happens to you guys?
Walker: "People over look us every year and every year we always prove people wrong. We don't worry about that because rankings don't win us football games."
SES: What do you love about being Jaguar?
Walker: "The city and school are just amazing. They've always supported us no matter what and you can't beat a Friday night in the Jungle."
