Catching Up With Vincent Butler
Brandon running back Vincent Butler rushed for just under 1,000 yards in 2015 while helping lead the Bulldogs to an 11-3 season. With a lot of starters returning, Butler believes Brandon will hit the ground running this fall.
We caught up with the Bulldog playmaker to see how the spring went and how he sees the 2016 season going.
SES: How did the spring go for you and the Bulldogs?
Butler: “It went great. The team is a lot more experienced, and we had better tempo. For me, I felt pretty good about it. It was like we picked straight up from where we left off last year.”
SES: What are the goals for 2016 and how are you guys working to achieve them?
Butler: We are hoping to win a state championship this year, and we all have individual goals also. A lot of our returners either were starters or they played in games a lot. So again, we have a lot of experience. We all know what's supposed to be done and how it should be done.”
SES: What is it like being a Brandon Bulldog?
Butler: “It's very fun being on a team with good friends you've known just about all of your life. Practice is very intense most of the time because we work very hard at being the best team in the state. Game days are always a good time because of the pep rallies and the excitement of everyone. But it's truly a once in a lifetime opportunity because you'll never find another atmosphere like we have in Brandon.”
