SES Mississippi: Hoskins Ready To Run
South Panola will take this field this spring and this fall without star running back Darrell Henderson. The South Panola Flash is headed to the next level as a part of the Memphis Tigers 2014 signing class.
Before inking with Memphis, Henderson became the all-time leading rusher in the history of South Panola football. He was also named the first ever recpiant of the SES Mr. Elite Award.
Huge shoes to fill for the TIgers in 2015.
Enter Oluwain Hoskins.
Hoskins quietly rushed for over 1,000 yards this past season and over 900 the year before that. The 5-9, 215-pound bruiser already has over 2,000 rushing yards for his career with 16 scores and he is ready for the bulk of the carries in 2015.
"It was great playing with Darrell," Hoskins told SES. "I feel good about next season because I know I can provide for my team just like he had did over the years."
Hoskins says a lot of the team's success this past season was a result of the play of quarterback Tyler Pogue. "I feel good about having Tyler back," Hoskins said. "He is a great quarterback back and his great season helped us win state."
After going undefeated in 2014, Hoskins doesn't believe anything will slow them down in 2015. "I am going to be working on my footwork and speed," Hokins said. "I'm going for over 2,000 yards this season. I think we will we have a great year and win state again."
Hoskins will have his hands full as the South Panola Tigers will be the team to beat in 2015 and eve3ryone will be gunning for them, but lets face it. When is that not the case for the University of South Panola.
